Bodie Tap all the way

Mark Goodridge’s Gold Cup import Bodie Tap again closed the door in the faces of hot favourites Infrared and Gold Cup winner Celestial Storm in breathtaking fashion at the Garrison Savannah yesterday.

Bodie Tap, a four-year-old colt by Bodemeister out of Puddy Tap, added the featured Bentom Handicap over 1800 metres to his resume which includes last month’s T.A Tommy Peirce Memorial.

The Rommel Lovell trainee Bodie Tap with apprentice Lester Edwards up, controlled the pace from the start and was always in front on the way to his second successive win over the top rated 140-120 and below.

Infrared was again slow leaving the gates, forcing him to go around horses to stalk the leader. (LY)
