A group of local investors has answered the call for more projects to help pull Barbados out of economic recession.

By March, construction is scheduled to start on the new $30 million condominium property The Rockley Luxury Villas in Christ Church, and one of the developers says 16 of the 39 units have already been booked by buyers.

Ron Davis, a director of Rockley Luxury Villas Inc., told the Weekend Nation the venture signalled that local investors had confidence in Barbados and there were “opportunities” despite the challenging economy.

The residential development will be built on three and a quarter acres of land forming part of the near 100-year-old Rockley Resort. It incorporates the Worthing Great House property and an adjoining parcel of land once owned by Fortress. (SC)
