The latest meeting to resolve the dispute involving staff at Republic Bank did not come off yesterday.

Management and staff of the bank had converged at the Labour Department in Warrens, St Michael, along with deputy general secretary of the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU), Dwaine Paul, before 10 a.m.

Both parties remained tight-lipped before the meeting was scheduled to begin, with Republic’s managing director Anthony Clerk declining comment and Paul saying he preferred to speak after the meeting.

However, the meeting never took place as it was reported that Minister of Labour Colin Jordan was unavailable. (CA)
