HUNDREDS OF schoolchildren were on the road after the bell rang yesterday demanding to have a voice in matters affecting them.

The placards bearing youth who chanted from Jubilee Gardens, The City, to the nearby historic Queen’s Park, were part of a peace rally in which students from several other schools joined those from Frederick Smith Secondary School, still grieving the loss of a colleague fatally stabbed on November 8 on the school compound.

Colleagues Bianca Broomes, Briana Bowen and Elvis Woodroffe organised the Anti-Violence Rally, prompted by the death of 16-year-old Temario Holder, while education officials and members of the National Council on Substance Abuse also participated in the three-hour event.(TG)
