The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is restricting all non-essential travel.
The directive came from the Regional Headquarters in Jamaica today, urging Campus principals to initiate the appropriate measures and monitor.
This is part of the “commitment to the regional and global strategy in respect of COVID-19” and efforts to keep students, staff and guests safe, it said.
“In addition to the University’s cost containment policy currently in operation, that targets travel as a significant item by limiting access to mission critical activity, The UWI now seeks to further restrict the travel option to the most essential matters, as part of the regional public health and institutional responsibility programme,” a release said.
On Monday, UWI hosted a Vice Chancellor’s forum on COVID-19. (PR/SAT)
