Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley gave an ardent appeal to those who are over 70 years or have underlying medical conditions to stay at home as the country battles the outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19.
The repeated appeal came as she also informed Barbados that there were three more confirmed cases of COVID-19. That brings the number of recorded cases in the island to five since the last two were reported on Tuesday.
She also asked able-bodied Barbadians to look out for those who are vulnerable to the illness that is affecting the entire world.
Mottley singled out those others who should be staying home out of harm’s way as those with cardiovascular illnesses, chronic respiratory problems and beseeched them to consult with their doctors.
“This is our reality unfortunately, but this is the reality of the world,” she stated moments ago at today’s COVID-19 press conference at Ilaro Court.
