Chief of Staff of the Barbados Defence Force (BDF), Colonel Glyne Grannum, says it is ready to do whatever is needed to keep Barbadians safe through any further stages of the Barbados National Pandemic Prepared Plan for COVID-19.

In an interview on Wednesday, Grannum revealed that his full complement had been placed on high alert, and fully understood how dangerous their jobs could be.

“We are fully mobilised . . . We [have been] through the emergency operations centre, been given our various responsibilities within the inter-agency framework and are fully cognisant of our responsibilities at the higher levels of the plan,” he told the Weekend Nation. (BA)
