The Barbados Nurses’ Association (BNA) wants to see initiatives implemented particularly for nurses who will be interacting with COVID-19 patients.
In a statement yesterday, president Joannah Waterman said special attention would have to be paid to nurses who administer care to patients in the quarantine and isolation centres and those who would likely have exposure in screening.
“We expect the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Government to take strong action in order to ensure there is sufficient personal protection equipment and training so that nurses can stay healthy while saving lives, in caring for these ill/infectious persons,” she stated. (MB)
