Barbados Meteorological Services has extended a small craft advisory until 6 p.m. today.
The initial advisory started from 6 p.m., June 25 until 6 a.m. today.
The advisory warned of “significant wave height magnitudes to the east, north and south of the island: moderate to rough in open water with swells ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 metres and steady”.
“All marine craft operators and beachgoers should note the following possibilities along the coast and near shore of this zone.”
It warned that large open water swells can be hazardous to some vessels, especially smaller ones. (PR)
