The inner gate under the arch of the District “A” Magistrates’ Court was blocked with hoarding during the appearance of a 16-year-old accused of murder yesterday.
Jacobi Omari Fenty was led off to the cells to await transportation to HMP Dodds yesterday after being remanded on the charge of murdering 21-year-old Tramaine Cummins 18 days ago.
Moments later, one of the youngsters who turned up in the courtyard attempted to get a message to the accused. The inner gate under the arch was immediately blocked with pieces of hoarding to restrict views into the area.
Fenty, of Kings Village, Whitepark Road, St Michael, was not required to plead to the charge of murdering Cummins, of Gills Gap, St Michael, on October 24.
The accused, who was represented by attorney Angella Mitchell-Gittens, was also not required to plead to doing serious bodily to Khareen Daniel with intent and using a firearm without a licence, both on October 24.
Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes remanded the accused to HMP Dodds until December 7, when he will reappear in the District “A” Court. (HLE)
