Boxing Day a time for family, friends to relax

Although some hot spots in St Philip and St John did not boast the usual crowds on a bank holiday, some Barbadians and visitors still spent Boxing Day picnicking, playing fun games, and sharing laughter with friends and family yesterday.

A Nation News team traversed the two parishes to see the activities people were engaging in, and it appeared that outdoor events were not the No. 1 choice.

In St Philip, Three Houses Park, Shark Hole and King George V Memorial Park were quiet.
Only a few people were seen picnicking or taking a dip in the water.

At Three Houses, the Pierce and Pearce family was indulging in food and big drinks and catching up with each other.
Greta Collymore said this was the second year the family came together on Boxing Day.

“Last year we had a week of activities and we picnicked at King George but this year we decided to scale back things and we are just picnicking here,” she said. (SB)
