Thirty positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were recorded on Saturday, February 27, from the 506 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
Sixty-three people recovered and were discharged from isolation. The number of active cases now stands at 628.
The 30 new cases comprised 12 men and 18 women. Three of them had been sent to the Harrison Point Isolation Facility for assessment to determine whether they were in fact newly positive, or had the virus in the past and were no longer infectious.
Twenty-seven of them are Barbadians.
Barbados has recorded 3 068 confirmed cases – 1 435 females and 1 633 males – and 2 407 people have recovered. Thirty-three people have succumbed to the viral illness.
Since February 2020, the public health laboratory has completed 125 693 tests.
On Saturday, 2 908 people were vaccinated as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.
To date, a total of 36 749 vaccinations have been administered – 15 678 men and 21 071 women. (BGIS)
