The Barbados senior national football team has suffered a major blow ahead of next month’s second round of the Concacaf FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers in the Dominican Republic.

Winger Ryan Trotman has been ruled out of Barbados’ two remaining fixtures in Group D after testing positive for COVID-19 last week.

The Netherlands-based midfielder who made his debut for the Tridents in March versus Panama in a 1-0 defeat is reportedly among 11 FC Den Bosch players who recently contracted the virus.

Under COVID-19 protocols in Holland, Trotman is currently in self-quarantine at his home and will be unavailable to travel with the squad.
