Residents affected by last night’s tropical wave should call the Department of Emergency Management (DEM) for help.
Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams said while the ministry was still collecting information on the damage done by the system that produced severe lightning and thunderstorms, rapid response teams were already on the road.
He said there were some incidents of trees blocking roads and affecting the traffic flow.
He appealed to those affected to contact the DEM.
“…Please make your report so that we can see exactly how you are affected and the best way to assist you,” he stated in a media release this morning.
Abrahams said his ministry would continue assessments of the impact of the weather system and he would give an update on “when you can expect normal services to be resumed”. (PR/AC)
