Health authorities in Barbados confirmed two more people have died from the complications related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
A news release from the Barbados Government Information Service said the viral illness claimed the lives of two Barbadians early on Thursday.
A 78-year-old woman died as a result of COVID-19, after spending three days in the primary isolation unit of the Harrison Point Isolation Facility.
She had pre-existing conditions and was unvaccinated.
Also, a 36-year-old man succumbed to the viral illness while in the primary isolation unit at Harrison Point, where he spent 19 days.
He too, had pre-existing conditions and was unvaccinated.
The number of deaths recorded in the island from COVID-19 is now 88.
