Eight Barbadians who ply their craft in horse racing enjoyed successes on international tracks on Saturday.

Trainers Sir Michael Stoute, with a brace, and Tedson Holder joined jockeys Jalon Samuel, Rocco Bowen, Rico Walcott, Antonio Whitehall, Simon Husbands and Jason “Jet Lee” Hoyte in the winners’ enclosure.

In Britain, Sir Michael, who turns 76 on Friday, doubled up at Wolverhampton, thanks to victories by Hasty Sailor and Traila.

Competing in a Class 3 Handicap event over one mile four furlongs, the four-year-old bay gelding Hasty Sailor surged from the back to register a three-and-three-quarter- length victory. (LY)
