President of the Democratic Labour Party Verla De Peiza today urged Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley to “bring a budget”.

De Peiza said productive sectors are non-productive – and we have “five ministers of finance standing idly by without a word”.

“Now one advisor has the audacity to say that there is no need for such a budgetary statement, as ‘government is being transparent in its financial dealings’,” a media release from De Peiza said.

“May we remind Dr Kevin Greenidge that Barbados has not settled with the vaccine fiasco,” she stated.

De Peiza also said there are questions surrounding the acquisition of houses from a Chinese provider.

Additionally, she said there was “an almost monthly increase in borrowing on the international market without any plan for repayment being shared with the people of this country”.

“Has he forgotten that we the people have to pay it back?” (PR)
