Kirby gets bronze in backstroke

Barbados now has its first Junior Pan American Games medal.

Former Carifta aquatics gold medallist Jack Kirby won bronze in the men’s 100-metre backstroke final at the Hernando Botero O’byrne swimming pools tonight in Cali, Colombia.

Kirby, who is based in California clocked, 56.18 seconds to finish behind winner Diego Salgado (55.38) of Mexico and silver medallist, Aruba’s Patrick Groters (55.75). (AGB)
