The Robinson Smiles and Hope Foundation presented 22 000 children’s books to the Barbados Public Library this morning.
The books are valued over US$100 000.
Board member Anthony Layne said this was a significant contribution by the foundation which has a mission to support children and underprivileged families.
Beverly Archer, deputy director of the National Library Service, said the books will be distributed to their branches, nursery schools and some will be donated.
She expressed gratitude to Robinson Smiles and Hope Foundation for the generous donation.
Archer also praised founder Julia Robinson, a Barbadian who resides in the United States, saying that children in Barbados will benefit from the donation. (MB)
