Jafari Toppin cracked a boundary-studded unbeaten 47 to usher Windward to an emphatic come-from-behind, seven-wicket victory over IGS Insurance Brokers Yorkshire as they lifted the Barbados Cricket Association’s Intermediate Trophy yesterday.

The win was achieved 40 minutes after tea on the fourth and final day, with Windward racing to 115-3 from 19.3 overs out of a possible minimum 47 overs.

The triumph gives Windward promotion to the BCA’s First Division championship for the first time.

Toppin, a 26 year-old player/coach and former Barbados Youth team batsman, hammered four fours and three sixes off 36 balls.  (EDH)
