A 29-year-old man has been fined $30,000 after pleading guilty to charges of trafficking and importing cannabis.

Lynson Henderson Cox, of Lewis Gap, St Michael, was arrested and formally charged by the Narcotics Unit of The Barbados Police Service. The charges stem from July 13, when police seized approximately eight kilogrammes of suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of $128,000.
Cox appeared before Magistrate Gayle Scott in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court on Saturday and pleaded guilty to both offences.
He was fined $30,000, to be paid within six months, or he will serve six months at Dodds Prison.
